The Ferryman II (2022)

This painting is inspired by folklore and legends from around the world. Butterflies are universally thought to be the spirits of our departed friends and family, come back to offer wisdom and comfort and relay messages. Owls are seen as omens of death, the ferryman of souls to the afterlife, and beings of spiritual and intellectual wisdom.

I chose to paint these two creatures, not normally found together in nature, to tell a story of mystery, spirituality, and the space between life and death.

This unframed painting is 16 x 20″ on gallery-wrapped canvas.

Shipping is free with purchase.
